Experience

September 2003-present Faculty of Information Technology

Supervising the following projects:

n Designing and Implementing a Wireless Services Provider:

This project tends to extend the ability of WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) by compromising the cost of service and the size of the retrieved data (which is requested by the customer and handled by an application connected to the internet).

n Designing and Implementing a Network Management System:

This project aims to implement an application that enables a network administrator to have a full control over the network and runs several applications (according to the free resources) on different machines on the network. This application has a great benefits in the parallel processing systems.

n Designing and Implementing a Web Application for Wireless Services:

This project aims to have an application that enables a user to get benefits of the mobile network services over the WEB (like sending SMS, Tones and Pictures).

n Designing and Implementing a System for Remote Control over the Web:

This projects tends to enable a user to make a remote access to his pc through a secure web application and perform all possible tasks on his pc remotely.

March 2006- May 2006 Wafa Group

Working as developer in a web prject that intends to develop several ecommerce portals with a content management system. The tools used in this project are: ASP.Net with C# and VB.Net connecting to a SQL server database. The branch I was working on includes:

n Catalog Module

n Expert Module

n Expert Evaluation Module

n Template Item Modules

n Export2Excel Module

n Email this Report Module

n Advanced Search Module

February 2005- March 2006 AL Manar Co

Working as developer and a Team-Lead project manager on several windows projects developed with Microsoft.Net using C# language and SQL server 2000. These projects are:

n Framework project: designing and implementing several libraries that would be based on when developing any MDI project.

n ReportBuilder: a special library provides reporting tools that are build on MS Web Browser. The final reports were generated and HTML and XML/XSL format and displayed in a web browser control. This project was integrated later in the main framework.

n Doctor Clinic: a project dedicated to dentist that help them handling patients, operations and accounting.

n Central Project: This is a part of Dentist Central Automation project that connect 14 branches in 14 cities with the Central department. The project intends to manage messaging, accounting and centralizing the dentists data with the ability of synchronizing with other branches.

n Asia project: This project is dedicated to automate a transport company by managing trips, buses, ticketing, passengers and accounting.

n Automation project: this is an internal tool that help developers and testes to have a best way in building the first’s projects and deliver the executable and dynamic link libraries (the output files) to the seconds. The main key here is to get the source code from a source safe database (MS Visual Source Safe), build the code (automatically) and provide the testers with the output in a pre-specified location.

October 2004- May 2005 AL Mamoun International Center

Teaching Knowledge Engineering material for Sunderland second level student and training them on some softwares for designing and implementing Neural Network, CBR and Expert Systems.

I also supervised 7 mini-projects on expert systems using Aion BRE for the same class.

Marsh 2003- October 2004 ISS

Working as a member in the processing operators team. This team works with some high technical tools combined in an automated multi processing system which generates web reports for some big companies like: American Express, Dow Jones, DaimlerChrysler, Ford, LastMinute, Reuters and UKOnline.

February 2002- Marsh 2003 ISS

Working as developer in several windows and web projects, and supporting other projects. These projects were mainly dedicated for an American company that provide data mining and analysis services for some big customers (mentioned above) as out-sourcing business.

January 2000- June 2005 HIAST

As a Telecommunication engineer and teacher of C++ material for second year students in The High Institute of Applied Sciences and Technologies. Also worked in HIAST network designing , administrating and installing services.

key projects

1998 FSK (Frequency Shift Keying) modulator and demodulator.

The project aimed to produce an electrical digital communication system using FSK digital modulation using the shift frequencies 10 and 100 KHZ.

Tasks:

n Designed and implementing the modulator and demodulator.

n Developing a windows application and a serial interface to the modulator for sending data.

n Receiving the demodulated data through a serial interface and make a correlation with the data sent to test the functionality of the system.

1998 Channel Encoder/Decoder using Hauffman Algorithm.

The project aimed to produce an electrical circuits for encoding data sent through a communication channel using Huaffman algorithm which involves data compression and adding parity bits for channel error correction.

Tasks:

n Designing and implementing the encoder and decoder circuits.

n Developing a windows application for analyzing the work flow.

n Designing a White Gaussian Noise source to the channel to test the performance.

1999 DSP (Digital Signal Processing) Multi-Application.

The project aimed to produce an application that performs some signal processing in the real time using TMS starter kit.

Tasks:

n Developing a C++ multi-application for performing the following tasks in the real time world:

n Signal generator (Sinusoidal, Square and Triangle)

n Oscilloscope

n Spectrum Analyser

1999 Extending Point to Multi-Points protocol in a wireless network.

The project aims to extend the functionalities of Point to Multi-Points protocol in a wireless network that didn't support this protocol. The server had a UNIX OS is connected to a pc through serial cards and that pc is connected to 8 other pcs through wireless modems programmed to perform multi connections to the server at the same time.

Tasks:

n Developing a windows application for programming the wireless modems

n Developing a windows application to connect the remote machines to the server through the bridge pc

n Developing a windows application to monitor the workflow and the performance of the complete system

Lectures, papers and presentations

2000 GPS (Global Positioning System) Presentation HIEST

This presentation aimed to show the new technology of GPS and its great applications in the real world (mainly in the problems of traffics)

2000 Modems Programming Lecture HIEST

This lecture aimed to learn listeners the usage of modems, how to connect them to a personal computer, how to connect a personal computer to a phone network through modems, how to configure modems for internet connection and how to program modems by Hyper Terminal using AT commands
